Dr. René English is a medical doctor and public health medicine specialist from South Africa, with expertise in health systems, health policy research, and global health. She currently serves as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Health Systems and Public Health within the Global Health Division at Stellenbosch University, based in Cape Town.
Dr. René academic and professional interests include health systems performance, global health, and capacity building for the next generation of public health professionals. She is committed to advancing training and mentorship in global health and strengthening health systems through evidence-based approaches.
