Dr. Dunstan Achwoka is a seasoned global health leader and medical doctor with nearly 20 years of experience in Kenya, including more than 12 years dedicated to designing and managing complex public health programmes. He currently serves as a Project Management Specialist with the United States Department of State and previously served as Deputy Team Lead for a US$200 million HIV Care and Treatment portfolio at USAID Kenya and East Africa.
Dr. Achwoka has led major initiatives in HIV, tuberculosis (TB), maternal and child health (MCH), health systems strengthening, and global health security. His work has contributed to shaping national health policy and improving health outcomes across Kenya.
In addition to his programme leadership, he lectures at Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and has published research on non-communicable diseases among people living with HIV (PLHIV). He also co-authored a book on the history and evolution of HIV and AIDS in Kenya.
