Dr. Issaka Sonde is a pharmacist and public health expert with extensive experience in pharmaceutical systems, supply chain management, global health policy, projects management. He holds a Doctorate in Pharmacy, advanced master’s in public health, advanced master in immunohematology, postgraduate diploma in global health procurement and supply chain management. He is also certified in humanitarian diplomacy, in health diplomacy and in global health leadership.
With a career spanning multiple African countries (Burkina Faso, Niger, Guinea, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Somalia and through ACAME network including 22 African’s countries.
Dr. Issaka has worked for many institutions (WHO, Global Funds, Palladium, Chemonics, Expertise France, Solthis, Ginger, KPMG, CEERFE, French Red Cross, Belgium Red Cross…), across several countries health system levels (peripheral, regional, central), with a focus on strengthening pharmaceutical services and the field pandemics and epidemics response (HIV/AIDS, Ebola disease, Covid 19…).
For human resources strengthening, he is an associate lecturer at Joseph KI-ZERBO University (Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso), Nazi Boni University (Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso), Kofi Annan Global Health Leadership Program (Africa-CDC), Empower school of Health (India), Group of research and action in diplomacy and health.
Currently, Dr Issaka serves as a member of the Steering Committee of the Kofi Annan Global Health Leadership Program and works as an independent consultant and technical expert, supporting countries and academic institutions (WHO, Global Funds, Africa-CDC, universities…) in strengthening health product procurement and supply chain management.
