Dr. Diana Ratsiambakaina is a public health specialist with nearly 20 years of professional experience in public health practice, research, and health systems management. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Mahajanga and a Master’s degree in Health Economics from the University of Toamasina.
From 2002 to 2009, Dr. Ratsiambakaina worked with University of North Carolina–Madagascar (UNC-MAD) as a site coordinator and investigator in a multicentre clinical trial evaluating a new treatment for syphilis in comparison with benzathine penicillin. She later served for 11 years as a programme officer and leader within the regional public health system, contributing significantly to health systems management and programme implementation.
She also coordinated the implementation of Universal Health Coverage initiatives in Madagascar for six years. Currently, she serves as Director of Training and Research at the National Institute of Public Health and Community.
