Dr. Nasri is a public mental health specialist and the focal person for Mental Wellness and Suicide Prevention at Ministry of Health Kenya. Holding a Master of Science in Global Mental Health and a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, she has more than twelve years of experience advancing mental health policy, suicide prevention programmes, workplace wellness initiatives, and mental health financing.
Beyond her role at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Nasri contributes to global mental health efforts as a member of the Advisory Committee of Fondation D’Harcourt, where she supports the evaluation of evidence-based interventions and strategic partnerships. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the Centre for Global Mental Health, providing guidance on policy and research strategies.
As an advisor to Africa CDC on non-communicable diseases (NCDs), injuries, and mental health, she supports strategy implementation, the integration of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) into emergency response, and the development of surveillance tools. Her expertise lies in resource mobilization, policy development, and driving sustainable investment to strengthen mental health systems through strategic advocacy and evidence-based interventions.
