Action Amos is a mental health expert working at the intersection of health equity, policy, and empowerment. He currently serves as a Regional Technical Advisor for the Pan African Network of Persons with Psychosocial Disabilities, supporting work across 28 African countries.
He previously served as Vice President of the International Bureau of Epilepsy and now works as a regional coordinator across Africa. He also contributes as a regional support person to disability advocacy initiatives, including the Pan African Network of Persons with Psychosocial Disabilities. His advisory roles span multiple institutions, including Aga Khan University, Kenya’s EPINA Project, the BAND-UCB African Initiative, and the University of Oxford. He is also a member of the Global Lived Experience Community Council.
Action Amos has consulted for the World Health Organization (WHO) on mental health, epilepsy, and meningitis, and is a Research Fellow with the PROMISE project at the University of Edinburgh. He co-founded Malawi’s Mental Health Users and Carers Association and has served as a Director of the African Disability Alliance, as well as a member of the AGMHI initiative (Boston University–University of KwaZulu-Natal collaboration).
