Dr. Benedict Azuogu is a professor and Director of Research, Grants and Partnerships at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, where he also heads the Department of Community Medicine.
His professional work focuses on HIV, tuberculosis, Lassa fever, malaria, vaccinology, and infection prevention and control. He leads epidemiological research and fosters collaborations with national institutions such as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, ministries, and development partners in infectious disease prevention and control.
Dr. Azuogu has played a key role in national immunization policy as a member of the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (2015–2019).
