Dr. Shalom Tchokfe Ndoula is a public health expert with extensive experience in health systems strengthening and disease control program management. He currently serves as Director of the Expanded Programme on Immunisation at Cameroon’s Ministry of Public Health. He holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Yaoundé I and a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Disease Control from the Institute of Tropical Medicine In Antwerp.
He has led national efforts to strengthen primary health care, with a strong focus on immunization, maternal and child health, and community health. Under his leadership, Cameroon achieved key public health milestones, including the elimination of wild poliovirus in 2020 and the introductions of new vaccines, while also expanding vaccine coverage, improving equity and strengthening routine immunization systems.
Dr. Ndoula’s work emphasizes advancing Africa’s health sovereignty, particularly through promoting local manufacturing of vaccines and essential medicines.
