Dr. John Mark Bwanika is a visionary health-technology executive and digital health strategist who has pioneered telemedicine in Africa and has 15 years of experience bridging medicine, research, and entrepreneurship. John Mark co-founded Rocket Health Africa and led its growth for 12 years, transforming it into a leading digital health company in East Africa focused on expanding access to preventive care, disease management, surveillance, and health communication. Over that period, his telehealth company served millions of people, raised more than $10M, and employed over 500 staff before merging with MyDawa Group.
Dr. Bwanika is now the Founder and Executive Director of the Africa Center for Applied Digital Health (CADH), where he applies his vast experience and expertise to design digital health infrastructure that supports all stakeholders in the health ecosystem in advancing their digital transformation goals seamlessly while harnessing data science and Artificial intelligence capabilities for maximum value.
John Mark began his medical career at the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI), where he received advanced mentorship in clinical practice and research.
His current focus is on Transformational AI and data-science-enabled health innovation, and global partnerships across pharma, big tech, academia, and public health institutions.
