Dr. Kenneth Kalani is a psychiatrist and Senior Medical Officer at the Ministry of Health Uganda, with 12 years of clinical and public health experience. He began his career as a general practitioner before transitioning into mental health, where he has focused his work over the past five years on coordinating national mental health services.
He currently co-chairs the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) sub-pillar in Uganda and serves as General Secretary of the Uganda Association of Psychiatrists. His leadership has included coordination of national MHPSS responses during major public health emergencies, including Ebola and COVID-19 outbreaks. Dr. Keneth is committed to strengthening mental health systems and integrating psychosocial support into Uganda’s emergency preparedness and response frameworks.
