Dr. Witness M. Mchwampaka is a medical epidemiologist and medical doctor with expertise in International Health Regulations (IHR), antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and global health security. She currently serves as National Coordinator for IHR and Global Health Security at the Ministry of Health Tanzania.
Over the past 10 years, she has worked at both subnational and national levels, providing leadership in public health emergency preparedness and response, coordination of multi-sectoral stakeholders, and organization of national and regional health security meetings and processes. She coordinated Tanzania’s second Joint External Evaluation (JEE) and supported other countries, including Zambia, in their preparedness assessments.
Dr. Witness has served as a consultant under the World Health Organization supporting polio campaigns across multiple regions.
