Dr. Sètondji Cahetel Ladislas Tonoukouen is a public health physician with over 15 years of experience in managing health programs across Benin and sub-Saharan Africa. He currently serves as Deputy Chief of Party for the Projet de Renforcement des Systèmes de Santé (PReSS) at Management Sciences for Health.
Dr. Sètondji’s work focuses on prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT), as well as health systems strengthening and Universal Health Coverage. In recent years, he has focused on supporting health financing reforms and serves as a strategic advisor on the implementation of Benin’s national health insurance program. Dr. Sètondji is a former fellow of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders (YALI), where he focused on public management and PMTCT. He has also served as a WHO expert on gender-based violence and health systems and has contributed to advancing gender-responsive health policies.
