Dr. Ikrama Hassan is a public health physician, university lecturer, and the Chief Medical Director/CEO of the Federal University Teaching Hospital Lafia.
Prior to his current role, he served as project manager for two World Bank-funded health projects, State Director of Health Planning, Research and Statistics, and Chief Medical Director of a State Specialist Hospital in Nigeria. He was also part of the team that designed and implemented a social health insurance scheme in Nasarawa State.
As Chief Medical Director, Dr. Ikrama developed postgraduate medical training programmes at his hospital, which have so far produced more than 25 specialist doctors across diverse disciplines. His evolving professional interests include molecular epidemiology and vaccinology.
