Dr. Saloshni Naidoo is an Associate Professor and Head of the Discipline of Public Health Medicine in the School of Nursing and Public Health at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
A clinician by training, she holds postgraduate qualifications in Public Health Medicine and Occupational Health, as well as a PhD from Utrecht University, Netherlands. Her research spans environmental impacts on populations, including pesticide exposure on worker health and climate change effects on health. She is also involved in health systems strengthening and public health leadership. She is the recipient of grants from the National Institutes of Health (USA), European Union Horizons and UK-National Institute for Health Research. She teaches undergraduate medical students and supervises postgraduate students in public health. She is currently a member of the South African Department of Health Ministerial Advisory Committee on Foodborne Illnesses, and she is part of the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health’s Public Health Emergency Operating Committee.
