Driving Continental Unity for Health Security
As Africa continues to navigate evolving health challenges and emerging opportunities, Africa CDC concluded 2025 by reaffirming its commitment to a healthier, more secure continent.
At its annual staff retreat, more than 100 senior leaders from headquarters, regional offices and member states came together to review progress and shape the 2026 workplan – underscoring the organisation’s mandate to protect Africa’s health through solidarity, cooperation and strong institutions.
The opening day also featured a heartfelt farewell to H.E. George Orina, Kenya’s ambassador to the African Union. His unwavering support and passion for Africa CDC served as a strong reminder that unity and strong institutions remain central to the continent’s health security.
