Biography

Dr. Diomede Ndayisenga is currently working as a Public Health Fellow at Africa CDC Central Africa Regional Coordinating Center based in Libreville, Gabon where he supports Member States in the central African region in preparedness and in responding to disease outbreaks and other public health emergencies. He also works with the National PHEOC Managers to coordinate, monitor, and alert. Dr Diomede Ndayisenga manages all aspects of operations which covers prevention, mitigation, response, and recovery.

Before holding this position, he served as rapid responder within the Africa CDC Emergency Operating Center in Addis Ababa.


With nine years of experience as a doctor and as public health physician, Dr. Diomede has extensive expertise in public health emergency operations center management, health systems management, in incident management system, in multisectoral coordination and in epidemic intelligence. He held various positions at the Burundian Ministry of Health and served as a medical doctor in rural hospital of Burundi, as director of hospital for three years and as director of health projects and programs in the Ministry of health in Burundi for three years, before joining Africa CDC in 2020.
