Biography

Ms Christine Fortunate Rebecca Mutesi is a Public Health Fellow with more than two years of experience in public international law and international public health law. She currently serves as Legal Officer for Africa CDC, where she advices on legal issues in consultation with the African Union Office of the Legal Counsel and assists in drafting legal documents such as memorandum of understanding, and operational and administrative contracts and agreements. She also provides administrative and programme support services for the preparation of project and programme resource plans and the Emergency Operation Centres incident management systems. Ms Mutesi is also experienced in sexual and reproductive health and rights and civil litigation. Before joining Africa CDC, she served as Legal Assistant for Senkaba & Co. Advocates where she provided legal advice and opinions on civil, criminal, family and commercial matters, supported drafting of legal documents, and conducted legal researches. She was awarded and recognized as the outstanding third overall best student on the postgraduate bar course 2016/2017 by the Principal Judge of Uganda. Ms Mutesi holds a postgraduate degree in legal practice from the Law Development Centre Uganda and she speaks fluent English and basic Kiswahili and French.
