Biography

After the declaration of COVID-19 as an outbreak, Chika an Event-based Epidemiological Analyst is working tirelessly to provide up-to-date COVID-19 case counts and vaccination data through monitoring, tracking, analyzing and generating visuals from epidemiological data to interpret trends to inform response efforts and to help support coordination and decision making for informed action. She proposes corrective action or interventions to prevent public health issues based on epidemiological findings. She conducts and supports disease surveillance operations at the southern region and continental level. She is privileged to join the fight to get the African continent out of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chika’s entire career is dedicated mainly to the areas of surveillance, data analysis, epidemiology, rumor tracking and event investigation. Mrs. Chika is specialized in Economics and Statistics, obtained her Master’s degree in Environmental Resource Management and attaining a Master’s degree in Public Health from James Lind Institute, Genève Switzerland.
