Biography

Laura Ngumama’anwi Ambe currently serves as Programme Officer in the Executive Office at the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), a specialized technical institution of the African Union. Before taking up this role, she was Assistant to the former Director of Africa CDC from 2019 to 2022.

Before joining Africa CDC, she served as a consultant at the UNESCO Liaison Office to the African Union, where she initially served as an African Union Youth Volunteer.

In 2016, she worked as a Refugee Integration Officer at the Malteser Refugee Registration Center in Halle Saale, Germany.

Laura holds a Master’s in Global Studies from Leipzig University, Germany, and Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. She is studying for a Master’s in Public Health Management at James Lind University Switzerland. She holds a Bachelor’s in Educational Psychology from the University of Buea, Cameroon and is also a Licensed Practical Nurse. In 2016, Laura received the DAAD Scholarship, and between 2011 and 2012, she received the President of the Republic of Cameroon Excellence Award to Meritorious Students of Cameroon State Universities.
