Background
The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), a specialized public health institution of the African Union (AU), invites eligible and qualified logistics service providers to apply for prequalification under the African Pooled Procurement Mechanism (APPM).
The African Pooled Procurement Mechanism (APPM), formally endorsed by the Assembly of the African Union, serves as the continental pooled procurement platform aimed at improving access to quality-assured health commodities while supporting regional manufacturing and strengthening health security across African Union Member States.
To support the implementation of the APPM, Africa CDC intends to establish a roster of prequalified logistics service providers capable of supporting international freight forwarding, temperature-controlled logistics, customs clearance, emergency response deployment, and related health supply chain logistics services across Africa. This initiative supports:
Scope of Services
The scope of services may include:
- International freight forwarding services
- Air, ocean, multimodal, and cross-border transportation
- Cold chain and temperature-controlled logistics
- Customs clearance and import facilitation
- Specialized handling of sensitive and regulated medical cargo
- Emergency and outbreak response logistics
- Shipment visibility and tracking services
- Delivery of health commodities across AU Member States
Application Process
Interested applicants should demonstrate relevant experience and operational capability in health, pharmaceutical, humanitarian, emergency response, or other time-sensitive logistics operations within Africa.

Applications for prequalification shall be submitted electronically in PDF format to the same email address.
Submission Deadline:
Applications must be submitted no later than: 13 July 2026 – Midnight East African Time (EAT).
Africa CDC reserves the right to accept or reject any application, request additional information, conduct due diligence and verification, and amend or cancel the prequalification process in accordance with applicable African Union procurement procedures.
