Revealing the toll of COVID-19: A technical package for Member States

This technical package supports national governments to enhance their outbreak surveillance and response planning. Establishing a system of Rapid Mortality Surveillance would inform national decision-making based on the true impact of COVID-19 within countries and communities.

The Revealing the Toll of COVID-19 technical package contains step-by-step guidance on the collection, analysis and use of all-cause mortality data collected through facility- or community-based surveillance.

The technical package has been developed by Vital Strategies, in partnership with the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) and others.
