Outbreak update: Since the last brief (27 September 2022), 20 new confirmed cases and five deaths were reported from three districts in Uganda: Mubende (18 cases; 4 deaths), Kagadi (1; 1) and Bunyangabu (1; 0). Two new districts, Kagadi and Bunyangabu, reported confirmed cases. Nine cases and three deaths were reported among health workers.
Cumulatively, 44 cases and 30 deaths were reported from five health districts: Mubende (36 cases; 28 deaths), Kassanda (3; 1), Kyegegwa (3; 0), Kagadi (1; 1) and Bunyangabu (1; 0) districts. The case fatality rate among confirmed cases and deaths stands at 22.7%. Of the total cases, 15% (10) are health workers, including four deaths. A total of seven recoveries have been registered.
