Planning Begins for Africa’s Premier Public Health Conference
Preparations are underway for the fifth edition of the Conference on Public Health in Africa (CPHIA), following the official launch of the planning by the Government of Ethiopia and Africa CDC.
Scheduled for 23 to 27 November 2026, the conference will bring together governments, scientists, policymakers, health professionals and partners to advance practical solutions for Africa’s health transformation.
CPHIA has become Africa’s leading forum for public health dialogue, scientific exchange and policy coordination. Having the conference in Addis Ababa further reinforces Ethiopia’s role as a key diplomatic and institutional centre for continental cooperation and global engagement.
Organisers expect participation to grow significantly, from 2,500 delegates at the inaugural edition in 2021 to around 30,000 participants in 2026.
