Ibanga: A Game-Changer in Ebola Response
A significant milestone in the fight against Ebola is unfolding in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Ibanga (MAB114), a promising monoclonal antibody treatment discovered by renowned Congolese scientist Prof Jean-Jacques Muyembe, is now being deployed with logistical support from Africa CDC.
With 100 doses already delivered to areas affected by the current outbreak, this life-saving innovation is offering new hope to patients and communities.
Africa CDC is supporting efforts to scale up production and distribution of Ibanga, recognising its potential not only to curb the latest outbreak but also to strengthen Africa’s preparedness for future health emergencies. This collaboration highlights the potential of African-led innovation and the significance of continental solidarity in promoting public health.
