Usman Lawal Shehu

Dr Usman is a medical doctor from Nigeria, certified field epidemiologist (FELTP), Community health physician and trained vaccinologist. He worked and contributed immensely to the global polio eradication initiative and global Covid-19 vaccine roll-out. He has a broad-based academic and field public health expertise and has contributed to the reduction of vaccine preventable diseases burden through providing access to vaccines and immunization to the hard to reach and most remote locations of Africa leading to the delivery of millions of doses of life saving vaccines and reduction in morbidity and mortality among children under five years.  Dr Usman had lead outbreak investigation and response activities of many tropical and infectious diseases including polio, cholera, Lassa fever, measles, CSM, diphtheria, pertussis, Covid-19 etc. He possesses excellent skills in project management and coordination and has published and presented several papers at international conferences and holds membership of numerous professional bodies and societies.
