Southern Africa Leaders Unite to Advance Bold Health Agenda for Resilience and Euity
At the 4th Regional Ministerial Steering Committee (ReSCO) meeting in Lilongwe, Dr Jean Kaseya joined health leaders from across Southern Africa to reaffirm a shared commitment to protecting the health and well-being of the region’s people.
The discussions underscored the urgent need to strengthen cross-border disease surveillance, expand local manufacturing, invest in resilient laboratory systems and accelerate digital innovation within primary healthcare.
Dr Kaseya emphasised that health security cannot be achieved in isolation. Solidarity and shared accountability remain the region’s strongest defences. Africa CDC stands firmly with Member States to transform this unity into tangible action and lasting impact.
